Doctor Discussion
Guide
Make the most of every appointment. Our guide can help.
When it comes to discussing Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis (UC) symptoms, there might be things you’re uncomfortable with or even embarrassed to talk about with your doctor. If that is the case, try not to let your discomfort hold you back. You owe it to yourself to make sure your doctor has all the information he or she needs to help you.
Bring this guide to every visit
The Doctor Discussion Guide can help you evaluate your Crohn’s disease or UC and how it affects you on an ongoing basis. Each time you visit your doctor, you should plan to discuss everything from seemingly minor symptoms to whether or not your symptoms are something you should be concerned about. Also, the adjustments you make to manage your symptoms—what you’re avoiding, for instance, is information that will be helpful to your doctor.
Try to answer these questions as openly and honestly as possible and then share with your doctor at your next appointment.
